Make Up For Ever Uplight: Make Up For Ever's New Highlighters Make Me Want to Stay Uplight
Rarely does my bizarre retention for cheesy popular music lyrics come up in as handy as information technology did today. While marveling at the explosion of pigment and glitter on my cheeks from 2 of the eight new Make Up For Ever Uplight ($28) highlighters, I sang along to a MUFE version of Billy Joel's Uptown Girl.
"Uplight girl! She's been living in her uplight world!"
Okay, so I'thousand mode too easily amused. 🙂 But I do think these multitasking, oil-free illuminators are well worth singing about.
Make Up For E'er Uplight in #12 Dewy Aureate Warm (left) and #32 Sparkling Golden Pink (correct)
Perchance because they're generally water (70%), these gel highlighters experience almost weightless, and information technology's like they melt right into my skin (I previously talked nearly them here).
How practise they compare to the NARS Illuminators?
NARS released a similar product earlier this leap called the Illuminators. While I think both those and these are great, MUFE gave the Uplights a fluffier, airier texture that I find easier to blend. And from the colors I've seen and so far, the Uplights besides appear to pack much more pigment. For a subtle tint, I might opt for a NARS Illuminator, only I'd reach for an Uplight if I wanted bolder colors with intense glitter and polish.
The 8 Uplights span a range of warm and cool shades. I tried #12 Dewy Golden Warm (a pearly, warm gold) and #32 Sparkling Golden Pink (a shimmery, bully pinkish with aureate glitter).
#32 Sparkling Golden Pink
What a fun shade! This assuming baddie has HELLA golden glitter. With it on, I feel similar 1,000 angels only left sweet, sparkly kisses on my cheeks.
Um, did I mention this has a lot of glitter?? Seriously, it packs enough to build 2 discos. I dear it! — although I'm afraid I might be a little too erstwhile experienced 🙂 to wear it during the 24-hour interval. I think I may actually similar it more than on my lips and lids, just if yous're a little younger than I am or work in a creative environment, I bet you could rock this blush at noon. I have no qualms, however, about wearing it at dark, and I'm definitely wearing information technology the next time I go clubbing or hit the Vegas strip.
#12 Dewy Golden Warm
I was hoping pigmented gilt pearl #12 would resemble a warmer version of MAC Strobe, but it lacks the opalescence that gives Strobe such incredible dimension. I recall it's notwithstanding gorgeous, though, and looks not bad either worn by itself on bare skin, or layered under foundation. And considering it is and so pigmented, a fiddling goes a loooong way.

Oh, lookout man out for Uplight's touchy pump because, no kidding, the affair has a hair trigger. Unfortunately, the first few times I used it, a lot of product went to waste product, and then I plan to keep a small-scale sample jar around to store the excess.
PRICE: $29 each Us; $33 Canadian
AVAILABILITY: Available now at select Sephora stores and likewise online
MAKEUP AND Beauty Weblog RATING: B+ (an A- if the pump wasn't so touchy)
I made pea soup!
I know it looks a lot like baby nutrient, only I remember it turned out pretty good. Would yous believe I actually fabricated information technology from scratch? Fo' reals! No cans anywhere in sight (this time). I'yard going through a cooking phase, and I've been craving warm comfort foods like soup.
I wish you could finish by for a basin with pita fries. We could talk about makeup while Tabs made kitty biscuits on your tum (his new favorite thing).
Your friendly neighborhood dazzler addict,
